Podcasting is a very important strategy to use on the web!
Let me tell you a bit of a history lesson, at this point. One of the Internet properties in that I developed and business concepts is a site known as "podcastingforlawyers.com”. I started a facet of infocard.cc where I could assist lawyers in their marketing vis-à-vis podcasting. Podcasting is a very unique animal and must be done properly for many reasons. However, getting off the point here, I started podcastingforlawyers.com to prove a point, I used only to keywords for the entire website. I search engine optimize the site for these two key words and more importantly I added a nether strategy to my marketing mix. If it's all about relevance (and it is) then what if I created multiple web properties that utilize the same keywords and also were linked together. With this assist me in
moving up onto the first page of a Google search for my to keywords. My two key words were "podcasting and lawyers". You can stop right now and do the search for yourself and at the time when I created the website I had competition webpages that amounted to 3.4 million. I figured if I could move up onto the first page of Google, while actually at the time I would be excited in the top 100 listings, that would be a fantastic indication that I was onto something. Well, I did get in the top 100 I even got to number two and four on Google, and number one and three on Yahoo. This all in the span of six weeks! Yes this is no joke it was a fantastic indication of how to configure "relevance" an Internet properties together. I tied my podcasting site back to my search engine optimized website which was then also tied to my search engine optimized blog. This, love triangle, was the key to my moving up onto the first page of Google. I just stopped and did a Google search and I'm still number one utilizing those two key words!
Let me digress briefly to remind you that this is called "organic" search engine results or organic traffic. When you do not pay to be on a program like "pay per click", or "the use of ad words", this is a approach that is considered organic by nature. It's also free. You could do a lot with your free organic approach to drive traffic in addition to other strategies to enhance your web traffic.
