How to make your own book

With the advent of desktop publishing and print on demand, these two technologies has made it possible for people to be self published without costing thousands of dollars.

By using Microsoft Word you can create your manuscript and also illustrated with pictures.  It's always good if you have Photoshop such that you can manipulate the pictures as required but even that isn't always necessary.  Where do you get royalty-free pictures?  Well, the website you can purchase royalty-free pictures from http://www.istockphoto.com. 

Once you have your manuscript you can move in your photos to illustrate your book.  The only further requirement you need is a front and back cover for your book.  You typically make the use with a Photoshop type program and save them as a JPEG.

Once you have your manuscript ready you can print it as a PDF file.  You can then find websites such as http://www.cafepress.com, http://www.lulu.com, http://www.cafepress.com or http://www.booksurge.com that you can upload your PDF and JPEG's to make a book.

I always suggest you purchase one book for yourself to make sure that you got all the alignments required for whatever book format you have chosen.  I might mention here that each place has templates for the sizable if you're going to be creating, which you can download and utilize for your manuscript.

Marketing your book now is yet another challenge but this site has tons of technology to educate you as to how you might want to market your book.
