If you are going to have products that are DVD or CD-ROM-based, at least in the beginning you probably need to duplicate your own materials until the product matures.  For example, if you have a DVD, or a learning DVD, you might want to have a limited amount of sales and get feedback to improve the product.  You might not even improve the product but at least you can get feedback on if there is a market for the product.  Doing a limited run or duplicating your own DVD products and/or CD-ROM products is a smart way to start out a product line.
I typically purchase multiple CD and DVD burners, which are commercially available, and burn anywhere from four to eight DVDs or CD-ROMs at the time.  They are standalone and require a master disk to burn the other discs.  I also use high-quality high-gloss labels, which you put on the DVDs.  By using high quality are high-gloss labels the product looks extremely good, and at least as good as a printed label.  You can purchase printers and that print right on CDs or DVD blank material, however they are typically pretty slow and somewhat pricey.  That technology still has not quite caught up to printing on a label and then putting a label on a DVD.  I know many people will say that's not quite accurate but in my experience it's very true.

Burning and printing your own labels on your DVDs also allows you to mature the label design as well.  All of this maturing makes for a better end product when you finally go to replication.  Understanding that duplication is a completely different process than replication.  Usually, in a replication business the minimum run is 1000 pieces.  So burning and doing your own label, plus maturing into DVD product is a very smart thing to do; at least to the point where your sales start to push you into replication.

DVD or CD ROM duplicators can be purchased or you can have your DVD's mass produced by DVD Replication companies.
